What Happened to Republican Values?

It is a disgusting thing to forcibly separate children from their parents and in 2019, POTUS-45 separated more Christian kids from their families than any other person on earth. Repurposed from the previous administration, he turned temporary holding areas into cages. He separated families; concentrated humanity by age and gender. He intentionally failed providing basic care and vaccines, promoting illness and disease, this administration wanted to dehumanize these christian families.  Make them filthy and disgusting.  Make them look like animals.  Make them hurt. That was the stated goal. Make it hurt.

Those values now lead our country. They are clearly not democratic, family and even less so, Christian values.  The values of POTUS have been on display for half a century. A pedo-peeper, rapist, racist, misogynist, liar and cheat all have been a core part of his personality and character. But that it could extend to flocks of vulnerable Christian women and children seeking our help and that Christian evangelical republican values got so easily rolled – that has been a surprise.  How?

Fear.

“An invasion!” is what the administration said of the refugees fleeing to our border. The hyperactive media only to happy to cram their fingers down onto the fear button – push it into our veins to extract every ounce our attention.

This is an “invasion” is an invasion of Christian families; the caravans traveling to our borders, a Christian caravan looking for salvation – from America.  But with a syringe full of fear pushed into the veins of the susceptible by relentless media, POTUS fodder succumbed. The republican evangelicals allowed the fear mongering of a teutonic fool to part them from their values and have now bonded themselves to his sociopathic ways.

They have also bonded themselves to the architect of ‘the border war show’; a man condemned by his own family and rabbi for his racism.  A bigot pulled from the pages Breitbart working in white house to foment a continuous conduit of fear generating hate towards Christian refugees.  With fear coursing their veins, the ‘family values’ Christian Republicans succumbed to cage their brethren to death; failing scripture in favor of an idol.

The Republican Cult Forms

“Russia, if you’re listening ….” It is baffling that any party would associate itself with those words. Traitorous words that humiliate the country on the global stage. But the fear of losing political power was greater than the fear of losing democracy.

Void of as much spine, republican leadership, at that moment, failed to throw out the fraud.  Indeed, if there was one valid function of the party system at all, it would be to use its authority to vet candidates. To assure the broader public that these candidates are not traitors, mentally challenged, and unfit to lead the complex governing system of the USA. To push unworthy candidates off the stage if they failed basic American standards of democracy and decency. 

But here, the republicans failed.  They accepted him. They rolled over on democracy right into the lap Russian play book, the oligarchs. Republicans have morphed from a political party to cult.  Where the center of belief is in the leader and all others are subordinated to his needs.  Where subordination needs continual testing as a way of showing fealty.   And more frighteningly, fealty tests must increase in difficulty to maintain subordination.  This we have seen from Hitler to Jones to al-Baghdadi; and now we see it in the increasing abuse our current leadership inflicts on humanity.

Evangelical republican Christian’s, the party that used family values as a key element to hold their political base, subordinated themselves to a leader who’s obscene nature has been in the public domaine for half a century.  Yet they disregard or worse, torture religious doctrine, to support solely his view.  This is a cult.

Owning the -ism

Political parties adhere to specific ideals as a way of defining themselves – conservatism and liberalism being the most obvious.  As political parties mature, some ideals conflict, are modified to meet current needs, but stay within their broad constraints.  This is not the transition this republican party has made.

Subdued by their leader, republican’s have embraced the presidents racism, sexism and barbarism.  They have attached their values to a leader who has demonstrated for over 50 years he is morally, intellectually and spiritually bankrupt.  Evangelical republican Christians now own the the full suite of hate-ism’s the president demands of them.  Hate-ism’s that belong in no religion or family.
