The Maga-America War

As the MAGA-America war continues into its second decade, it has been absolutely heart warming to see how Americans have resisted outright violence. Heart warming and a huge win for American values.

Heart warming and truly remarkable.

For 4 decades screaming groups of 2nd amendment folks were adamant about needing ‘firearms to limit the tyranny of the federal government’. So adamant that we all had to tolerate a 1/2 billion pew-pews and frequent slaughters in our towns and schools

So adamant that we all thought they would have eagerly run down the path of open hostility with a rabid federal government.

As it turns out, the ‘firearms to limit federal tyranny’ people are just fine with tyranny when it’s their tyrant. So paradoxically, as the federal government brutally escalates violence against the states, those avid 2nd amendment folks, having turned-coat, are dead quiet; their flaccid Gadsden Flags now nothing but incredibly ironic. They sure sounded pretty tough, but instead they’re pretty happy watching, or even more ironically, participating in the spectacle.

Still, daily, Americans continue to stand on their penultimate principle; our democracy was created specifically to solve problems using our words. To avoid the ignorance of violence that only slaughters the poor, destroys the middle class and is just good sport for the wealthy.

And as painful as this has been, Americans can be heartened that, from the turn-coat 2nd amendment folks to MAGAs bone-spur billionaires, these are some of the biggest losers in the world. Loud, scary, big guns, sure; just got no constitutional game.

Their blind spot; Americans are the toughest in the long game. Slow to mobilize, but tenacious as Pitt bulls. 

Just this month Americans have stood in the breach though MAGA’s blitzkrieg attacks on their cities, disappearing citizens and police alike, terrorizing children, gas attacks, bombings, shootings, and killings. Insult after insult levied against Americans all built on an architecture of bold faced lies.

And for over a decade, with hands up and weapons down, Americans have been using their voices and bodies to stand against MAGAs tyranny.

And now, rising from all corners of this amazing country, from midwest farmers, western ranchers, lobsterman – the most unlikely people in the most unlikely places are wanting their part of being American patriots. This is the stuff our country was founded.

True American Patriots are rising up everywhere and this is not going to stop.

As a pacifist, daily I’m saying ‘thank goodness we haven’t opted for outright violence’. Staying true to our founding ideals by using our collective words is fucking awesome.

But I also can also see the trajectory changing. Changing for when we have no words to describe the horror of our situation.
